.:. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Review .:.
Yes, I know this isn't a Pokemon game, but I have been SO addicted to the online multi-player lately that it's not even funny :P. Also, Modern Warfare 2 is coming out very soon (in November, it's September as I'm writing this), so that is another reason I am reviewing it.
Story
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has an awesome story! It isn't the most wonderful thing ever, but it's still pretty awesome. You begin the game as Private Soap MacTravish. You are in a training camp for the S.A.S. (Special Air Service, British Special Forces). You go through the basic training tutorial, and then you are informed by Capt. Price about your first mission. You are going to go on a Russian cargo ship, because there is suspicion of a war head on the boat (maybe it's something else, I forget). You find a clipboard with some information on a nuclear attack on America. As you go on through the game, you get to play as another character who is named Sgt. Paul Jackson. Later in the game, there is a gigantic plot twist, nuclear bombs launched at America, etc.
Gameplay
This is a standard FPS (First Person Shooter) game. However, this game is SO fun! There is a gigantic variety of guns, grenades including frag grenades, smoke grenades, flash bangs, etc. Also, there is claymores, C4, and some other explosives. Not to mention ROCKET LAUNCHERS!!! Okay, I may have got a little bit carried away there... On to online gameplay!
Online Gameplay
The online game-play has all of the same features as all of the normal game-play, but it is miuch more fun than the single player campaign. There is an upgrade system where you climb the ranks in the military the same as an actual soldier would. The game is sort of like an RPG on online. There is an XP system where you level up. You can gain points by killing your enemies, completing challenges, etc. With each level up, you unlock a new rank, and a few new things, such as new camouflage for your guns, new guns, attachments or your guns, and perks. You can only have 3 perks on at a time (2 if you have an attachment on your main gun). Perks are just a few things that you can choose to upgrade your character. Some of them include upgraded health, an RPG, higher bullet damage, deeper bullet penetration, etc.
Score
Although I named very few flaws for this game, there isn't much I can mention. If there is anything, it is not a very big deal. So, I give this game a 9 out of 10. If you like FPS games, you will love this game. It is definately my favorite FPS game. Hopefully, Modern Warfare 2 will be even better! Can't wait for it!
